Hi Colombia Travel Writer,

These pictures are from San Andres and there are a few from Providencia as well. The sites we did were Trilogia, La Piramide in San Andres, and Tetes & Manta City, in Providencia. Then we went to Mucura off the coast of Cartagena and did The Wall and then Moto & Las Baritas de Gairica in Taganga/Tayrona.

I thought that San Andres had the best visibility but I also missed a few dives due to some congestion so I didn't get to see a lot of Providencia's sites. The barrier reef stretches down these islands and while I envisioned going to dive at one specific reef, the sites seem to be interspersed throughout the area.

For me it was great, as a beginner it was warm, clear and lots of fun. For the experts who have been to some of the best diving spots in the world like Galapagos and the Red Sea, of course they would rate it less than I would, so it's a matter of perspective. I think it's a great place to learn and you can see stingrays, sea turtles, lots of small fish and I saw a nurse shark in Providencia so all around it was great for me!
