GreenSpot.travel co-founder Richard Edwards has traveled, worked and lived in Costa Rica for more than twenty years. Conde Nast Traveler magazine has recommended Richard as the Costa Rica Top Travel Specialist for the past three years. He is both a knowledgeable travel professional and an economist who has spent years working in sustainable development, speaking regularly to a wide variety of business groups on subjects surrounding green and sustainable travel, including community development, best practices in tourism, climate change and the carbon crisis.

Co-founder Irene Edwards is a native of Costa Rica with years of experience in the travel industry. Richard and Irene love the country and enjoy creating fun, eye-opening, and unique adventures for travelers who share their sensibilities. They know the communities, companies, and local business people they work with, and they only recommend accommodations and activities that they have experienced and enjoyed themselves.

Kelly Galaski's first trip on her own after graduating university was to Costa Rica – to take Spanish and surfing lessons. That would not be the last time she would visit that country. After a couple of years of living in Western Canada, living and traveling in Asia, she knew her life was going on a new path, to work for the environment. She still wanted to travel so luckily she found a degree that would let her focus on business, the environment and community development and would take her to live in to two countries in two years! She was privileged to receive an internship in Jamaica and to do her field work in Costa Rica where she returned to her first love. Till this day she gets misty-eyed thinking of the people and land she has grown to love and feels privileged once again to work for a company like GreenSpot where she gets to help the people she cares about while continuing to work in travel; green travel brings her great happiness!
