Day 1: Welcome to Costa Rica!

Our Costa Rican local representative meets you at the airport for your transfer to one of the world’s best boutique hotels, Finca Rosa Blanca. Your suite has a luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub surrounded by lush gardens and a large sitting room and deck provides views of the higueron trees above and the coffee plantations below.

Day 2: Coffee and Clouds

In the morning learn about the coffee plantation that surrounds the hotel. Walk with your coffee expert guide through the grounds of Rosa Blanca and the surrounding coffee farms at dawn, experiencing the wealth of bird life. Learn how organic coffee is grown, harvested and dried for roasting at Finca Rosa Blanca’s own organic and certified coffee farm. Your own private driver meets you at Finca Rosa Blanca to take you to the newest cloud forest lodging experience. The property is the creation of the owners of Punta Islita, one of the most highly decorated resorts in the world for its sustainability programs, and for careful attention to the balance between environment and high quality upscale accommodations. El Silencio Lodge & Spa continues those traditions and reaches even further into the realm of sustainable tourism, with organically prepared meals from local farms and support of both cultural and environmental conservation. A large, private suite with views and sounds of the surrounding cloud forest is the setting for a restful night’s sleep. Meals are included in the price of lodging. Day 3: Misty Cloud Forests and the Costa Rican Countryside

Hike within the 500 acre preserve that make up the grounds of El Silencio and ask questions of your local guide about the intricate workings of tropical forests. Your time in the forest takes you to the Saca Trails, where you pass by La Melodia, El Silencio and La Promesa waterfalls. Overnight in a Suite at El Silencio Lodge. [B]
 

Days 4 - 6: Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park

Morning transfer to the local airport for a short flight south to a jungle airport on the Osa Peninsula for your stay at Lapa Rios Ecolodge. The lodge is the ideal blend of green luxury combining comfort with ecological sensitivity and understanding of the needs of the local communities. It’s designed to exist in total harmony with the natural surroundings.

Bungalows are situated on a terraced bluff with well-maintained stairway-trails leading down from the reception area, full bar and hilltop gourmet restaurant. Come prepared for some hill walking! These open-air bungalows are fully screened with a large verandah, private bath with a shower that overlooks the sea and comfortable beds with mosquito netting. There's a swimming pool and easy wildlife viewing from the three-story observation catwalk, the reserve is full of wildlife, such as monkeys, macaws and toucans.

Some of this wildlife and other species of mammals and birds can be spotted in the nocturnal hike in the forest included tonight. Other activities included at Lapa Rios for these next two days are a rainforest waterfall hike, a traditional medicine walk and your chance to plant a tree to add to the abundance of this diverse forested region.

Day 7: Manuel Antonio Beaches

Time to go to the beach! A short morning flight brings you to the Central Pacific beach and rain forest area of Manuel Antonio National Park. Arguably the country's most beautiful and popular protected coastal area and home of the lovely and tranquil Arenas del Mar Beach & Nature Resort. The creation of some of the most experienced and accomplished ecotourism minds in Central America and under their care, this new property combines impressive ocean views, lush natural surroundings and the highest levels of service and comfort, while maintaining a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices. A relaxing yet sophisticated atmosphere, with open spaces and sweeping views all around make it almost too easy to slow down. The resort property covers several acres, including recovering secondary rain forest and an expanse of beachfront. The hotel can help you choose from a variety of activities, including surf lessons, sea kayaking in the mangroves or visit a butterfly garden. Relaxing, walking on the beach and soaking in the atmosphere of this longtime favorite beach destination is possibly the most preferred way to spend a day here. Day 8: Manuel Antonio National Park Hike

An experienced driver/guide meets you in the lobby to continue exploring the area and the grounds of the rich Manuel Antonio National Park, and accompany you on an informative walk through Costa Rica’s most famous National Park. There is a great possibility of seeing monkeys, sloth, iguanas, birds and other wildlife on the way. The national park contains pristine white-sand beaches, hidden coves ideal for snorkeling, trails through tropical forest filled with wildlife and the landmark Punta Catedral towering high above the deep blue Pacific Ocean.Overnight at Arenas del Mar. Day 9: Back home
Transfer to the International Airport in time to arrive 2 hours before your international flight. [B]
