What We Love:
A sunset that paints the whole hillside orange.
Green Cred:
- A natural nesting area for hundreds of sea turtles. Threatened by poachers, their numbers had been dwindling at an alarming rate. In collaboration with the Costa Rican Ministry of Environment (MINAE), the Hotel provides resources to guarantee a safe haven during the egg-laying ritual and hatching period of these endangered creatures.
- A 50 acre area of tropical dry forest situated at the northeast of the Hotel's property, designated as a private reserve to promote the conservation and rehabilitation of local species, including the Scarlet Macaw (Ara macau), the Toledo bird (Chiroxipia linearis), and the Pochote tree (Pochota quinata).
- Hotel Punta Islita has pioneered a Responsible Tourism program that encourages the preservation of local cultures and rational use of naturalresources. Community, Art, Responsibility, and Environment, underpinnings of the We Care Punta Islita Model, are pivotal to the Hotelīs unique charm and character.

Above and Beyond:
Under the hotel's sponsorship and local guidance, the Punta Islita Contemporary Art Museum is the flagship project of the We Care Responsible Tourism Model and features the works of established Costa Rican and international artists and members of the local community.
